The SDME Society was formed almost four decades ago to promote education in Ujire, a remote village in Belthangady Taluk of D.K. District.  Ever since the establishment of Sri D.M. College in 1966 as the first institution, the society has been making rapid and long strides in imparting education through schools and colleges in the Karnataka State.  Presently the Society is running more than 45 institutions of both professional and non professional institutions offering Degree and post graduation Degree courses. It is evident in the institutions of SDME Society that there is a unique blend of traditional and modern approaches in teaching methods.

The school aims at establishing a congenial environment for facilitating excellence in merit, character and in the all round growth of the personality of the learners.
