28 August 2026, UJIRE: In an effort to cultivate an interest in sports, foster a competitive spirit, and build self-confidence among students, the district-level ‘SDM Fly High Badminton Championship’ has been officially inaugurated.
The event was organized by the SDM English Medium (CBSE) School,Ujire, in collaboration with AICS, specifically for students representing various CBSE and ICSE schools across the Dakshina Kannada district.The inaugural ceremony took place on 28 August 2026 at the Indraprastha Auditorium of SDM Degree College, Ujire. Dr. Satheeshchandra S., Secretary of the SDME Society in Ujire, formally inaugurated the tournament and extended his best wishes to all the participating athletes.

The Under-14 junior category of the badminton tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation, with a total of 40 teams from various schools in the district competing.The young athletes brought immense energy and glory to the event by displaying exceptional sporting talent on the court.The championship is being driven by the highly motivating motto, “Smash Your Limits, Fly High!”.

The primary goal of the tournament is to instill discipline, punctuality, self-confidence, true sportsmanship, and a healthy competitive spirit in the students, providing them with an excellent platform to showcase their abilities.Following the intense competition, Dr. Sathvik Jain, Chief Medical Officer at the Ujire SDM Multi-Specialty Hospital, distributed the prizes to the victorious students and commended them on their outstanding success.
