Sankranthi Sambrama- Makara Sankranti Celebration

UJIRE, January 17, 2026: The ‘Kala Sindhu’ cultural club of School recently organized a vibrant celebration to mark the occasion of Makar Sankranti, bringing together students to honor the spiritual and scientific significance of the harvest festival.The event focused on educating students about the deeper meaning behind the festivities. Through various presentations, students highlighted the scientific specialty of the day, explaining the sun’s celestial journey and the transition into longer days. The program also showcased the diverse methods of celebration practiced across different parts of India, emphasizing the unity found in the country’s cultural diversity.

The school premises came alive with a variety of activities led by the student association:

 Students performed group songs that captured the essence of the harvest season.

 Fostering a sense of brotherhood, students shared sesame seeds (Ellu-Bella) with one another, a tradition symbolizing harmony and “sweet speech. The highlight of the day was a kite-flying session where students flew kites they had personally crafted, filling the sky with color and creativity.”The celebration aimed to instill a sense of pride in our cultural roots while acknowledging the astronomical significance of the festival.”The entire program was hosted and compered by student Pranamya, who ensured the event concluded on a high note of enthusiasm and learning.
