31 August 2026 ,UJIRE — The school in a collaborative effort with AICS, inaugurated the district-level ‘SDM Fly High Badminton Championship’ on August 31. The tournament was exclusively organized for students from CBSE and ICSE schools across the Dakshina Kannada district, competing in the Under-17 senior category.

The formal inauguration ceremony was held at the Indraprastha Auditorium of Ujire SDM Degree College. Sri Ramesh H., Sports Secretary of the Ujire SDM Sports Club, officially commenced the tournament by lighting the ceremonial lamp and extending his best wishes to the participating athletes.A total of 37 teams from various schools within the Dakshina Kannada district participated enthusiastically in the Under-17 senior division. The athletes brought a special luster to the tournament by displaying excellent sporting talent, discipline, and sportsmanship.Driven by the motto, “Smash Your Limits, Fly High!”, the championship served as a prime platform for students to showcase their athletic abilities. The core objective of the event was to foster a genuine interest in sports, alongside developing crucial life skills such as discipline, punctuality, self-confidence, and a healthy competitive spirit among the youth.
Following the matches, Dr. Sathwik Jain, Chief Medical Officer at the Ujire SDM Multi Specialty Hospital, presented the awards to the winning students and congratulated them on their success.
