‘SPLASH – 2025’-Inter-district Swimming Competition

Ujire, 6 December 2025: The much-anticipated ‘SPLASH – 2025’ Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts inter-district swimming competition was inaugurated at the swimming pool of SDM Institute, Ujire. The event is organized in collaboration with Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara English Medium School (CBSE) and the Association of AICS, ICSE, and CBSE Schools. Dr. Satishchandra S., Secretary of SDM Educational Institutions, officially commenced the competition by lighting the lamp. In his address, Dr. Satishchandra S emphasized the importance of developing swimming skills from a young age. “Swimming is a unique skill that builds self-confidence and morale through competition. Such events lay the foundation for future high-level achievements,” he said, wishing all competitors the best of luck.
Naveen, a swimming coach from St. Aloysius College, encouraged students to embrace both victories and defeats equally. “Success is achieved through continuous effort and enthusiasm. Swimming is not merely a sport but a vital life-saving art that everyone should practice,” he stated.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by SDM Autonomous College Principal Prof. Vishwanath P., SDM English Medium School Principal Manamohan Naik K.G., Student Welfare Officer Dhanya Kumar, and Sports Association Secretary Ramesh. The event was compered by Neethuprasad, an assistant teacher at the school, who delivered the vote of thanks at the conclusion.The competition featured six different events in two categories for boys and girls under the ages of 14 and 16. More than 200 students from approximately 20 schools across Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts showcased their talents.

Under the guidance of Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala and President of SDM Educational Institutions, state-of-the-art facilities, including an international-standard swimming pool, have been established within the school-college premises. These amenities provide valuable opportunities for student development and are accessible to the public.
