Ujire, Sept. 3, 2025: An enlightening awareness programme to protect our planet was organized for the students of Classes 6 to 8 of School. The event took place at the SDM Secondary School Hall and Professor Krishna Sharan, Professor and Head of the Department of Oncology, K.S. Hegde Medical Academy, Deralakatte, Mangaluru, was the resource person.
In his address, Professor Sharan explained how human desires for comfort and happiness often lead to unsustainable habits that harm the Earth. He drew attention to the harmful effects of plastic pollution and excessive carbon dioxide emissions, warning students of their impact on the atmosphere and future of the planet. He urged the young learners to follow the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle as an effective way to reduce environmental damage. The event was conducted in the presence of Mr. Manamohan Naik K G, Principal of our School.The session was interactive, with students participating enthusiastically and pledging to contribute to environmental conservation. The programme concluded with a call to live responsibly and nurture sustainable habits to safeguard the planet for future generations.
